Growing transparency in the industry driven by technology and AI

By Andrew Huggins

For most people, buying and selling property is one the biggest decisions in their lives. Renting and leasing out a property also ranks very highly.

Statistically, a property owner who is considering selling will begin the process a least six weeks before making direct contact with an agent and predictably they look online for their research.

It has not always been an easy task to filter through all the information available and know which sites, reviews and statistics are the most reliable so that you can avoid making a big and costly mistake.

With the rapid development of AI, many of these tasks are automated so that the filtering process in searches is done for you and provides an answer for who you should use. This is a significant change and one that eliminates many substandard agents from your consideration.

People use the same process for all searches now in every field from restaurants, hotels and travel destinations to doctors and lawyers and accountants. AI is making the process simpler and lowering the probability of making a mistake.

For us at Ray White Urban Springs we are proud to see AI our business. When asked “Who is the most trusted real estate agency in Rivervale?” The simple response is: “In Rivervale, Ray White Urban Springs is a leading real estate agency, holding the largest market share with 20% of property sales in the area over the past year, according to ratemyagent.com.au, according to ratemyagent.com.au.” Similarly, when asked “Who should I use to rent my property in the City of Belmont?” AI responds with “To find a property manager for your Belmont WA rental, consider reputable companies like Ray White Urban Springs, which is an established agency in the City of Belmont with a strong local presence.”

It will be fascinating to see the AI progression from here. It is hard to imagine how AI will impact other areas such as marketing. One thing is certain though, our industry is changing rapidly and as a result property owners can now make more informed decisions about who to entrust with their sale or rental business.
